Well, that was delightful! Madelyn & Christian’s wedding at Valle Crucis vineyards was such an authentic and whimsical affair. The love between these two individuals was celebrated by one of the coolest group of guests I’ve ever seen. I felt like I wanted to be everyone’s new best friend and the open and accepting atmosphere reminded me of my own family <3 Also, Madelyn’s parents Mike & Lynn might be the coolest parents on the planet.
The day began with a very laid back afternoon, with guys and gals hanging out together on the deck of Valle Crucis Vineyard’s cabin porch, which overlooks the Watauga River. Madelyn & Christian paid no mind to the normal traditions of weddings. Instead, they focused their day on fun and time spent with their friends, families and one another. I cannot say how amazing and refreshing it is to see couples focusing on what really matters on their big day.
We took advantage of the amazing fall scenery and backdrop by taking photos up the hill from the venue’s barn. Madelyn *perfectly* pulled off her fairy queen look, and Christian was so handsome in his suit and sloth tie 🙂 My heart melts when I see the way these two look at each other, and when they laugh together, I can’t help by smile.
The details of their day were also unlike any other. Madelyn crafted all of the paper map flowers herself! Please take just a moment to admire the amazing craftswomanship and time spent on this project. They are AMAZING! The ceremony under the tent was adorned with cutout map streamers. One of my favorite aspects of the day was that Madelyn walked down the aisle to the music playing from a hand cranked music box. Seriously, y’all… a music box. Madelyn’s mom Lynn, who is also a photographer, ran an open air photobooth, which backed up to the vineyards. All of this was topped off by a live performance from Pinto.
Madelyn & Christian’s wedding truly was one of the coolest weddings I’ve photographed to date. I feel so grateful to have been a part of their day!
