Everything about Alison and Philip’s wedding was their own. From the time of day to the flavor of cake, these two made their wedding day a reflection of who they are as a couple, and frankly, as a photographer, this is EXACTLY what drives my passion to photograph couples. I so love capturing the joining of two individuals to form a new life of their own. Seeing the way that Alison and Philip looked at each other after their ceremony made my heart melt–they are so excited to be together, and it shows!

The day started early for this Sunday brunch wedding. I arrived at the venue before dawn and snapped shots of the mist-filled valley while the light slowly began to make it’s way down the mountainsides. The florals by Stargazers Designs were outstanding with the bridal bouquet featuring strings of long amaranthus, bright colors and lots of greenery. Coffee, cider and a donut wall with donuts from Vortex Donuts were all ready for guests when they arrived. What a treat!

After Alison slipped into her dress, we took a short ride out onto the property for her bridal portraits. As you already know, I think she is one of the most amazing brides. The mountain mist and landscape only made her more regal. I also had the same opportunity to photograph Philip, which was a treat! He looks so sharp in his suite and he was so pumped to marry Alison <3 <3 <3

The ceremony took place on the sprawling lawn just behind the main barn at Claxton Farm. With mountains surrounding, Alison & Philip vowed their lives to one another and sealed the deal with a unique tradition that I’ve never seen before–a paint on canvas ritual. I’ll never forget the way they looked at each other walking away from the ceremony…

With a short and sweet reception, Alison & Philip spent time on their wedding day surrounded by their closest friends. They opted out of bridal attendants and kept the day simple, which made for a sweet and intimate affair. I’m so thankful to have had the opportunity to photograph these two, and can’t wait to see what their next adventure brings!
